Time for Tots
Finding safe and affordable childcare that includes transportation can be a challenge for anyone, let alone a parent dealing with crisis. SOS offers Time for Tots — a free therapeutic daycare for infants and pre-school children — to homeless parents participating in a local shelter program in Washtenaw County. Time for Tots provides a nurturing place for children so their parents can search for permanent housing, find a job or get connected to the resources they need to regain stability in their lives.
Time for Tots offers:
- Round-trip transportation from family shelters to Time for Tots.
- A low ratio of children to adults.
- A Head Start program for children ages 3 - 5.
- Developmental testing for each child. The results of their test are used to create an individual learning plan with goals.
To access Time for Tots, please contact your children’s services work or shelter advocate.
