Early Risers

School-age children from homeless families are vulnerable to many physical, emotional and social stress factors. Early Risers offers a comprehensive set of programs for homeless children to help them build the necessary skills to overcome the obstacles of homelessness. Targeted areas include:

  • emotional and behavioral skills
  • pro-social behavior
  • interpersonal communications skills
  • social problem-solving skills
  • conflict resolution and anger management
  • positive attitudes toward school
  • reading, writing and math skills
  • affiliation with pro-social peers

Early Risers includes both child-focused and parent/family-focused program components:
