Resources
It can be challenging to find affordable housing in Washtenaw County. On average, people spend approximately $762 per month on rent. That amount does not include the cost of utilities, food, transportation, and everyday necessities. To assist community members, SOS offers the following resources:
- Affordable Housing: For those in need of housing, SOS offers an affordable housing list.
- Eviction Prevention Assistance: For those who have been served an eviction notice, SOS can provide limited financial assistance for a portion of their rent once every 12 months, and link them to community resources that can help.
- Housing Relocation Assistance: SOS can provide limited financial assistance for a portion of families rent for their new apartments once every 12 months. To be eligible for assistance families must be currently homeless or recently received a housing voucher.
- Transportation: SOS offers limited transportation assistance.
- All housing resources are provided depending on funding and availability.
